Xbox One: Game Awards 2016: Overwatch Spiel des Jahres, Forza Horizon 3 bestes Rennspiel

The Game Awards 2016 fanden in der vergangenen Nacht am 1. Dezember 2016 statt. Nun stehen alle Gewinner in den jeweiligen Kategorien fest. Overwatch ist das Spiel des Jahres und kriegt einen weiteren Award für das beste Multiplayer-Spiel.

Blizzards geliebter Multiplayer-First-Person-Shooter schlug die heftige Konkurrenz Doom, Inside, Titanfall 2 und Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End in der Kategorie Spiel des Jahres.

„Während wir mit dem Spiel sehr zufrieden waren, sind wir auch stolz darauf, dass dieses Spiel und die Welt, die wir bauen, eine Botschaft haben. Es ist eine Botschaft über Heldentum. Es ist eine Botschaft über Vielfalt. Es ist eine Botschaft über eine helle und positive und hoffnungsvolle Zukunft. Das sind alles Dinge, die wir wirklich glauben, dass jeder ein bisschen von jetzt braucht“,  sagte Blizzards Ray Gresko in einer Rede.

Overwatch konnte sich ebenfalls in der Kategorie Bestes Multiplayer-Spiel gegen Battlefield 1,  Gears of War 4, Overcooked, Rainbow Six Siege und Titanfall 2 behaupten. Damit nicht genug, Blizzard hat ebenfalls in Kategorie Best Studio/Game Direction gewonnen. Somit konnte das Studio an diesem Abend gleich drei Siege feiern.

Auch Microsoft Studios und Playground Games sowie Turn 10 Studios haben einen Grund sich zu freuen. Forza Horizon 3 konnte in der Kategorie Best Sports / Racing Game einen Sieg gegen seine Rivalen FIFA 17, MLB The Show 2016,  NBA 2K17 und Pro Evolution Soccer 2017 ergattern.
